Mysuru: The farmers have alleged that the project to fill the tanks from Kapila River near Kannuru Village in Nanjangud Taluk was launched during the tenure of Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah.

The project is to fill up 24 tanks in the region and Siddaramaiah released a grant of Rs. 36 Crore.

In 2017, a contractor for the Andhra Pradesh-based ASR Engineering Project started the work on lease and the work could not be completed even after so many years.

Nanjanagudu MLA Harshavardhan has visited the site several times and held discussions with the concerned contractor and Irrigation Department Officials. The farmers have demanded that the contractor should be included in the black list as the contractor has not completed the work even after five years.
