Mysuru: Former MLA leads protest for water

Mysuru: The residents of Krishnaraja Constituency of Mysuru have been facing shortage of drinking water since last three days.

Former Congress MLA M. K. Somashekar along with the residents on Wednesday July 27 staged a protest in front of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Office on Sayyaji Rao Road here following the negligence by Constituency MLA, MCC and officials to supply adequate drinking water.

They urged the Mayor and MCC Commissioner to resolve the water issue immediately and warned that they would not leave the premises.

Block Congress President G. Somasekhar, Sridhar, Former Corporator Shivanna, leaders Naveen Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Rajesh, Farooque, Dairy Venkatesh, Former Shelter Committee Member Murthy, Rajesh, Ramu, Prashant, Gunasekhar, Raghavendra, Raghuraj Aras, Somu Saraguru, Vasant, Kiran, Nagamahadeva, Chikkalingu, Pradeep, Ravi and others participated in the protest.

Later, MCC Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy met the protesters and listened to their grievances, and assured to find a solution to the
water supply issue.
