Mysuru: Inter-state thief held, Rs 50L jewellery recovered

Mysuru: Police has succeeded in arresting the accused who had stolen gold jewellery and cash from a house in T. Narasipur Town recently. Thieves broke open a digital locker in the house of Srinivas, owner of Srinidhi Distributors in T. Narasipura a month back and looted Rs. 30 lakh cash, 3.350 kilograms of gold jewellery and 12 kgs of silver.

A case was registered at T. Narasipur Police Station. As per the direction of Mysuru District Superintendent of Police Seema Latkar, and under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Dr. Nandini, a team was formed under the leadership of Nanjanagudu Deputy Superintendent of Police Govindaraju, Police Inspector Srikanth, Circle Inspector of Nanjanagudu Town Police Station Inspector Laxmikant Talwar, T. Narasipura Police Station PSI Mahesh Kumar, and PSI Jayaprakash.

The Police Team led by PSI Mahesh Kumar of T. Narasipura Police Station conducted an operation and detained a person from Andhra Pradesh and interrogated him. He admitted that he had committed theft in T. Narasipura along with the accused who is in Hassan jail and with his two other accomplices. Two more accused have been absconding.

Police recovered 791.510 gm of gold and 499.260 gm of silver from the arrested accused. The accused are said to be involved in various cases in Karnataka and Tamilnadu. One of the accused is in Hassan District Jail, while the other two accused are absconding.
