Mysuru: Land dispute, gang assault on man

Mysuru: In a shocking incident, a man was brutally assaulted in broad daylight on the side of the highway near Somanahalli here.

Venkatesh (50), son of Lakshamayya of Dombidasa Colony (Kuppe Gate) in Bilikere Hobli of Hunsur Taluk, was seriously injured and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mysuru.

Sunil, Sanjeeva of Dombidasar Colony have a land dispute in the Village. On morning of Thursday November 3, Venkatesh, who was going back to his village on a bicycle after appearing in the Hunsur Court, was assaulted with a machete by the accused. The passers-by tried to stop the assailants but ran away because of the machete, the accused escaped on a scooter in front of the public.

The injured person was rushed to Hunsur Civil Hospital for treatment. Hunsur City Police Inspector Srinivas has registered a case on the basis of information given to the police.

Some people captured the accused attacking them with machetes through mobile phones and circulated them on social media.
