Mysuru: BJP MLA and Former Minister K. S. Eshwarappa visited Chamundeshwari Temple at Chamundi Hills on Friday July 22 after getting clean chit from State Police in contractor’s suicide case.

Eshwarappa visited the temple on the occasion of last Ashada Friday and distributed prasadam post offering puja to Goddess Chamundeshwari.

Speaking to mediapersons Eshwarappa said, “Congress leaders D. K. Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah are doing politics in the name of caste. Shivakumar strongly feels he is a good leader. He wants his community (Vokkaligas) to support him to become the Chief Minister of Karnataka. Even Siddaramaiah has no right to talk of secularism when he says he is a Kuruba leader, he noted.

Eshwarappa also said, “Congress leaders Hariprasad and Mallikarjuna Kharge have spoken about this. He ridiculed that both leaders are identifying themselves with their own castes and speak about secularism.”

With regard to his return to the state Cabinet, Eshwarappa said, “It is left to the party high command. Even though I was not at fault, I resigned taking moral responsibility. Now I have been given a clean chit by the police and it is up to the senior party leaders to decide on my future, he said.

He said that Former Speaker Ramesh Kumar spoke the truth on how Congressmen have made property worth crores during their regime. He said it is this Congress that is making allegation against BJP of charging 40 per cent commission. He challenged Congress leaders to prove at least one BJP Minister is corrupt.
