Mysuru: In view of Sharannavaratri rituals practised by the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru and other customs and traditions, Mysuru Palace will be closed for visitors for five different days between September 20 and October 20.
According to a statement made by Deputy Director T. S. Subramanya on order of the Mysore Palace Board’s Office of the Executive Officer, “On September 20, religious rituals in connection with Sharannavaratri/ Dasara 2022 assembling the throne, the Palace will be closed from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.”
The Palace will be closed from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm on September 26 owing to religious rituals associated with the throne-ascending by royal scion. Due to Ayudha Puja at Kalyanamantap, the Palace will be closed on October 4 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Owing to Vijayadashami, the palace will be closed to visitors on October 5 for the entire day. On October 20, Palace will be closed for visitors from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm, for dissembling the throne and keeping it back in the throne room.
