Mysuru: One of the major festivals of Kodagu, Huttari festival was celebrated with great fervour by the people of Kodagu in various villages of Neralakuppe and Kademanuganahalli Gram Panchayat limits of Hanagodu Hobli on the outskirts of Nagarahole Park.

People participated in the Huttari festival organised at Hanagodu, Billenahosalli, K.G. Habbanakuppe, Uduvepura, Kikkerikatte, Kalabochanahalli, and B.R. Kaval villages at night and brought paddy from the fields where they had grown and worshipped them and thus filled the house with Dhanyalakshmi.

Dressed in the traditional attire of Kodagu and worshipping swords and guns with kalasa, and slogan Puli Puli Deva. The festival was celebrated grandly everywhere by bursting crackers, firing a gun in the air, worshipping paddy in the newly grown field, bringing home grain with coconuts, making a special dish out of fresh rice and consuming it.
