Mysuru: Police arrest Congress workers agitating against Somashekar

Mysuru: The police took into custody the Congress workers who were planning to gherao District In-Charge Minister S. T. Somashekhar on Monday August 22 .

Congress workers had gathered at Gargeshwari Village at T. Narasipur Taluk. The activists who were protesting against the minister not only resisted while being taken into custody but shouted slogans against the police. They alleged that the State is ruled by the British Government and hence they are arresting peaceful protestors. The Police
Department is being morally bullied. Home Department is puppet of BJP, they alleged and claimed that their own government will come to power in the next few months and thus give a befitting reply to all this.

Meanwhile, due to conditions prevailing after eggs thrown on the car of Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah, the minister was given extra security under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Police.

In all, 10 commando personnel, 10 policemen, two gunmen, and an inspector will be on duty protecting Siddu.

On the other hand, Nanjanagudu Former Municipal President Somu and his supporters protested by displaying black flag at Minister Somashekhar’s car near the Congress Office off Kollegala Main Road.
