Mysuru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah alleged that the people of RSS do not want change in society and added that they have contributed nothing to the nation.
Speaking after inaugurating the Kanakadasa Jayanth celebration organised by Kuruba Sangha here on Wednesday November 30 he said that show me one freedom fighter from the RSS. He said that everyone should raise their voice against social disorder. Sangolli Rayanna is a patriot who sacrificed his life for the country. Those who want inequality in the country aim to exploit it. He said that country was divided by showing Muslims.
He said in 1988, I was the Minister of the Transport Department. I did the work of distributing Kanakadasa’s work at a low price. Later, celebrations of Kanakadasa’s Jayanti began in all Districts and Taluks. Later our Kuruba community became aware, he noted.
“In 1971-72, Former Minister H. Vishwanath and I started the Kalidasa Student Union. Those who do not know history cannot make history. Kanakadasa, Buddha, and Basavanna raised their voices against inequality. He said that the Constitution is the reason for the backward people reaching higher positions today.
He cut a cake inscribed with ‘Next Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’ and celebrated his birthday with Niranjananandpuri Swamiji of Kaginele Kanaka Gurpeeth, Shivanandpuri Swamiji of Shakha Matha and leaders of Halumata Samaj. The association honoured Siddaramaiah with a silver sword.
Prof. Aravinda Malagatti, who delivered the keynote speech, said, “Now the wind of change has blown. Voters have got another chance to make Siddaramaiah the Chief Minister. If he comes to power he should form a committee to revive Indian saint literature. Volumes should be brought out. He hoped that Siddu will protect our Constitution.
It is learnt that Ayyappaswamy devotees in TK Layout in the City are clamouring for Siddaramaiah to become CM. They took Siddaramaiah’s portrait to Sabarimala Yatra. Siddaramaiah’s followers along with Irumudi climbed the Sabarimala Hill holding his photo.
