Mysuru: Prohibitory orders have been put in place in a 200-meter radius around the Rangayana here on Tuesday January 10 following a protest organised by several organisations.
The prohibitory orders under Section 144 will be in effect on January 10 from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm, stated a release from City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh.
A call to gherao the Rangayana theatre was made by the Karnataka Rajya Kurubara Sangha, the Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vedike, and Congress officials on December 31, alleging that the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was insulted in the ‘Sambhashiva’ play performed on the premises of the Rangayana.
Section 144 has been implemented to stop any untoward incidents as around 10,000 people responded the call.
The order stated that legal action will be taken if any person or organisation tries to hold a protest march in violation of this order.
