Mysuru: Foreign students have realised the concept of Swachh Bharat by building a toilet in Ballena Halli, a tribal village of Hunsur Taluk in the district. Engineering students from France have accomplished this work through FSL India Swayam Seva Institute, Bengaluru.
A group of students named Rosie, Keyu, Ocean and Lea from France came to tribal colony, Ballena halli through NGO and learnt about the lifestyle of the tribal families. At the same time, the foreign students also created awareness on education and toilet usage for the tribals.
Foreign students have saved the money they earned from working in their country in free time and with the money they have built three toilets for the people of the colony. In addition, they painted the old school walls in the colony, taught English to the children of colony and created awareness about the environment and use of the toilets. They also painted beautiful pictures on the walls of the toilets.
Engineering students who came here to study as volunteers enjoyed the lifestyle of the Indian people, food habits, fellowship with nature, and were seen playing sports with Indian children. The foreign students also dressed themselves in local clothes and danced with the people of the colony.
