Mysuru: Tiger attacks and kills cattle, goat at Abbur

Mysuru: A tiger attacked and killed a cow that was left to graze in a field on the outskirts of Nagarahole Park in broad daylight and took away a goat at Abbur of the District.

The cow and goat belonged to Thimmegowda of Abbur Village in Hanagodu Hobli of the District. On Thursday November 17, it killed a cow that was left to graze on their farm on the edge of the forest in Shettahalli and took away a goat that was grazing next to it.

A week ago, a cow belonging to Shekhar of Gowdikere Village was attacked and killed. Three days ago, a tiger was spotted in nearby Beerathammanahalli.

Hunsur Zone DRFO Siddaraju visited the spot.

The tiger’s footprints were found in the fields around the forest fringe Villages of Billenahosahalli, Neralakuppe, Kachuvinahalli, Shettahalli, Kolavi, and Negattur and the locals have urged the Forest Department to take immediate steps to capture the tiger.
