Mysuru: Two held, 9.15 lakh property recovered

Mysuru: Kuvempunagara Police has arrested chain snatchers and seized five gold chains weighing 183 grams worth Rs 9,15,000 and a bike and two mobile phones used in the crime.

The arrested have been identified as Guruprasad alias Guru Bin Kumar Rao (32), a resident of Ramabai Nagara here and Lab Assistant Shabaz Khan alias Shabah Bin Muneer Ahmed, 29, a resident of Nehru Nagara on Mahadevapura Main Road.

When the duo were questioned by the police, five cases of theft came to light. Five gold chains worth Rs. 9,15,000 have been seized, a bike worth Rs. 35,000 and two mobile phones worth Rs. 20,000 were seized from the accused.

The operation to apprehend the culprits was carried out under the guidance of DCP Geetha Prasanna M. S. and Assistant Commissioner of Police Gangadharaswamy of KR Division.

Kuvempunagara Police Station Inspector Shanmuga Varma, Sub-Inspectors Radha M., Gopal, Assistant Sub-Inspector Mahadev, staff Manjunath, Puttappa Nagesh, Sajjan, Mahesh, Yogesh, Srinivasa and others participated in the operation.
