Mysuru:  District Minister S. T. Somashekar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be interacting with the beneficiaries of the central-sponsored schemes at Maharaja College Grounds on June 21.

Speaking to mediapersons while overseeing the preparations on the grounds he said, “We are planning to accord a warm welcome to our Prime Minister. This is a government – sponsored programme and we want to make it a successful one.”

He said that on International Yoga Day, the number of people has been fixed at 15,000 and one can book his/her seat online. Only those who register in advance will be allowed to take part in the event.

Reacting to the National Herald case, the Minister said, “If Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi is not corrupt, there is no need to worry about the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe.  There is nothing new about the probe agency. There is no political motive behind the probe. Why some Congress leaders are protesting against this? Do they want to please Sonia and Rahul? ED investigation will unravel the truth.”

On handing over Lalitha Mahal Palace to Taj Group, Somashekar said, “A committee has been formed to take the right decision. The hotel has been internationally-recognised and the state government wants to retain its identity,” he added.
