Mysuru: The villagers of Hinakal near here are outraged at the Vijayanagar Police for not taking strict action against a rowdy-sheeter despite complaints against him.

Naveen, a man with a criminal history, has been accused of harassing young girls and women walking on the Bhairaveshwara Temple Road. The locals are tired of his unacceptable behaviour and perversity but the cops have not acted yet.

Reportedly, a girl was injured on the head as he threw a stone at her. It is said that she lodged a complaint at the Vijayanagar Police Station. But the police who received the complaint have not yet taken action against this rowdy-sheeter. Naveen is very familiar with a Vijayanagar Police Officer and walks around the village claiming that no officer will take any action against him in spite of several complaints being lodged against him.

The villagers are outraged, and say “How can our daughters go to school safely? Why no action against this rowdy-sheeter?” The locals have demanded action.
