Mysuru: Mysuru royal scion Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar has launched a campaign to save the Chamundi Hills.
Yaduveer has called upon people in social media that your one signature would save Chamundi Hills. Chamundi Hills, the crown jewel of Mysuru, must be saved for the future of Mysuru.
He has stated in the appeal that owing to excessive developmental works taken up in the hills, the hill is collapsing. Stating that he has been involved in this signature campaign, he called upon people to join hands with him.
He in a social media post has stated that ecological balance should be maintained in the hill by reducing the
speed of development is a real concern. Many organisations in Mysuru including the Mysore Consumer Council, have supported this.
Chamundi Hills is collapsing due to continuous rainfall. In the meantime, the Government is planning to do commercial activities as usual. History experts and the public have expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s move. Thus, the Save Chamundi Movement Campaign has been launched in the social networking site.
