Mysuru: Precautionary measures will be taken in order to prevent any untoward incidents during Tipu Jayanti celebration across the district on November 10, said Ravi D Channanavar, Superintendent of Police, Mysuru District.
Addressing the revenue officers’ meeting at Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Thursday, Ravi Channanavar called upon the people to celebrate Tipu jayanti in auditorium instead of taking out a rally. However, he mentioned, before giving permission for the celebration, the police will visit the auditorium. He also called upon the organisers of the Tipu Jayanti to be cautious and prevent crowd formation outside the auditorium during the programme.
“The lectures or speech during the celebration should be given by prominent persons and there should be no provocative speeches. The organisers cannot come out with flexes according to their whims and fancies. It will be arranged by the district or taluk administration and no organisation is allowed to put up its flex on the occasion. For more information regarding Tipu Jayanti celebration at taluk level, tahsildars concerned should contact the Additional Deputy Commissioner D Venkatesh. Only after obtaining a ‘No Objection’ certificate from the respective taluk headquarters, Tipu Jayanti should be celebrated,” added Ravi Channanavar.
