Mysuru: Those found pasting posters without permission from the authority concerned will be under trouble. The Mysuru City Corporation will slap a fine of Rs 1,000 against such violators who will also invite other punishment under the law.

Addressing media persons at the Corporation premises Mayor Bhyrappa said “We have appointed new nine Data Entry Officials (DEO) for all the zones. These officials will help those who pay taxes with the filling of applications and data entry”.

“The electricity bill for 76,000 streetlights and its maintenance goes upto Rs 20 Crore annually. To minimise annual electricity cost we have requested the state government for permission to replace the old bulbs with the LED bulbs, which are energy efficient. Apart from this the tax and other payments and transactions of the MCC are being made through Axis and Kotak Mahindra banks. As their tender ends in December, further banking of the MCC will be done with the IDBI bank. The bank will install machines to enable cashless transactions,” added Bhyrappa.
