Mysuru: Cultural City Mysuru has added another feather to its cap. The city, which recently hogged the limelight for setting up toilets exclusively for the third gender, has now come up with brail menu cards for the differently abled.
Few days ago, the Mysuru Railway Department had inaugurated a brail machine so that the differently abled people could receive information on railway timings. Inspired by this, Hotel ‘The Best of South India’ located in Mysuru railway station premises has come up with Braille menu cards.
What does the Braille menu contain?
The newly introduced braille menu comprises details of food items available such as dosa, puri, vada, rice-bath, chapathi, south Indian and north Indian dishes. The rates are also mentioned in the menu.
“With this, differently abled persons can choose from the menu and read it out to the waiter and don’t have to depend on anybody”, said a visually impaired person named Nagaraj.
