Mysuru: Former MP and Kannada actor Ramya faced the vendors’ ire at Mysuru vegetable market when she went to listen to their woes in connection with currency demonetisation. The former MP left the venue immediately.

Ramya walked into the vegetable market to listen to the vendors woes following currency denomination. Soon vendors questioned her motive behind visiting them which she never attempted in the past.

A few of them were seen shouting slogans praising Modi and the rest shouted slogans against her. Embarrassed by the situation, Ramya quit the venue silently and when reporters asked her about the reason behind the backlash, she only said, “What can I do”?

Her response summed the whole situation as none was willing to listen to her at this point of time in the vegetable market.

Old currency still rules in Silk cocoon market

In the silk cocoon markets of Kolar, Srinivasapura and Kyathanur old currency still rules. The buyers refuse to accept the silk cocoon produce from farmers in case they refuse to accept the old currency and threaten them of sending back with their produce.

Unhappy farmers have urged the Deputy Commissioner to rein in buyers who are forcing the farmers to accept old currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations.
