Mysuru: Sosale mutt pontiff Shri Vidyamanohar Theerthashree has been arrested on the charges of misusing the property of the mutt and has been sent to three days police custody. The arrest comes two years after a complaint was filed by the devotees.
The seer was accused of selling a golden plate and also a silver chariot worth crores. He has been charged for allegedly misusing valuables and property of the mutt for personal gains.

In 2013, devotees filed a complaint with Narasipura station with documents that the seer was involved in cheating, by selling a golden plate and the silver chariot which belongs to the mutt.

The historical Sosale mutt has branches in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu and its main branch is in Krishnamurthypuram in Mysuru. The gold and silver which belonged to the mutt was misused by the seer, his parents and disciple, it is alleged.

Following the complaint by devotees, the government appointed a new temple administration which is now under its ambit. Narasimhapura police, which is investigating the case, arrested the seer, his parents and a disciple after they failed to appear for questioning. They were produced in the court and have been sent to 3 days custody.

For further questioning, the arrested have been brought to the Mysuru mutt.
