Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, speaking at an event with media personnel in Mysuru, responded to allegations made by the BJP. He stated that the BJP’s claims are politically motivated and baseless, emphasizing that people do not believe them regardless of any protests or demonstrations carried out by the BJP. He further stated that the Income Tax Department is conducting its work in a legitimate manner, and the allegations against Congress are groundless.
Siddaramaiah explained that the previous government had already initiated the collection of power bills from the farmers and clarified that there is no shortage of electricity supply in rural areas. However, he acknowledged that there is a delay in the supply of electricity to certain parts due to various reasons.
He also addressed the issue of crop failure due to a lack of rainfall and mentioned that the Congress government has taken appropriate measures to provide relief to farmers. Siddaramaiah stressed the need to supply uninterrupted electricity for at least five hours in rural areas and to ensure adequate water for crops. He assured that if additional borewells are required, they will be dug to address the water shortage issue.
Regarding the allegations related to Chamundi Hill’s lighting, Siddaramaiah clarified that the plans are in progress to make permanent lighting arrangements for Chamundi Hill to enhance its beauty. He mentioned that the suggestions and concerns of the people would be considered during the evaluation process.
Overall, Siddaramaiah dismissed the allegations made by the BJP and reiterated that they lack substance and any political or electoral relevance in Karnataka.
