Mysuru: To manage the increased passenger rush during the summer holiday season, the Railway Department has introduced special train services to various parts of the country. As part of this initiative, South Western Railway has announced a special train service between Mysuru and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in Delhi to improve travel convenience during the peak holiday period.
The special train service is expected to benefit tourists, families and other passengers travelling between Karnataka and northern parts of the country during the summer vacation season.
Officials said the additional service has been introduced in response to increased demand for travel during holidays.
Railway introduces additional service for summer rush
The summer vacation period generally witnesses a rise in travel activity as people visit tourist destinations, relatives and educational institutions.
To accommodate the growing passenger movement, the Railway Department has introduced special trains across different routes.
The newly announced Mysuru–Hazrat Nizamuddin service is expected to ease pressure on regular trains and provide additional seating capacity for travellers.
Officials stated that the service would improve connectivity between Karnataka and the national capital region.
Train to halt at multiple stations
The special train will provide connectivity to passengers from several districts across Karnataka and other states by halting at multiple stations along its route.
Within Karnataka, the train will stop at Hassan, Arsikere, Birur, Haveri, Hubballi and Vijayapura.
Outside Karnataka, the train is scheduled to halt at Solapur, Daund, Belapur, Manmad, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Rani Kamalapati, Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi and Agra Cantt railway stations.
Officials said these halts are expected to benefit passengers travelling to major cities and tourist destinations.
Summer special train to begin operations on May 21
Train number 06261, the Mysuru–Hazrat Nizamuddin special train, will depart from Mysuru at 4 am on May 21.
The train is scheduled to reach Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station at 5.45 am on May 23.
For the return journey, train number 06262, the Hazrat Nizamuddin–Mysuru special train, will depart at 9 pm on May 24.
The train is expected to reach Mysuru at 11.55 pm on May 26.
Railway authorities stated that the service has been planned specifically to support summer travel requirements.
Twenty coaches included in special service
The special train will consist of a total of 20 coaches.
According to railway officials, the train composition includes 18 sleeper class coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans.
Authorities also stated that a Divyang-friendly coach has been included in the train to improve accessibility and convenience for specially abled passengers.
Divisional Commercial Manager Girish Dharmaraja Kalgonda shared details regarding the service in an official statement.
The introduction of the special train is expected to provide additional travel options and improve passenger convenience during the busy holiday season.
