Three inmates from Mysuru Central Prison, aged 30 to 36, died after ingesting cake essence while working in the prison bakery. They complained of severe symptoms like stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea on December 26. Initially treated at the prison hospital, their conditions worsened, leading to their transfer to K.R. Hospital. Unfortunately, despite doctors’ efforts, they passed away within days. Authorities are investigating the incident, and a case has been filed by the police. The prison’s role and any potential negligence are also under scrutiny.
