Tiger Sighting Near Human Habitats In Mysuru Forest Department Vigil Intensifies

Forest department officials in Mysuru continued their vigilance after a tiger was sighted near the Doddekallu reserve forest area in Moodalahundi and in the vicinity of Moraraji Desai Residential School on T Narasipur-Mysuru road. This marks the second instance of a big cat being spotted near human habitats in Mysuru taluk within six months.

Concerns and Precautions

The tiger, currently in a territorial forest area, has prompted intensified combing operations by Mysuru territorial division forest personnel. Local villagers in Varakodu and Mudalahundi areas are fearful, affecting daily activities such as agriculture work and school attendance.

Vigilance Measures

To monitor the tiger’s movement, the forest department has installed night vision cameras, camera traps, and is employing thermal drone monitoring. A special squad has been deployed at Moraraji Desai Residential School for continuous monitoring.

Community Awareness and Safety Measures

Forest officials have restricted movement in affected areas, conducted educational drives to minimize nighttime activities, and urged villagers to ignore social media rumors to prevent panic.
