Mysuru: The University Grants Commission has yet again pulled up the Karnataka State Open University for not following the UGC regulations. With the UGC denying recognition to the KSOU, the future of over nine lac students seems bleak.

Speaking about the same MLC Go Madhusudhan has said that this has happened only due to the callous attitude of the KSOU Vice-Chancellor and other authorities.

The UGC has sent a warning to the KSOU on February 12 in this regard.

The KSOU had taken up admission violating the UGC regulations in 2013-14, due to which the UGC rejected the recognition.

Though the KSOU was confident of renewing its recognition, the UGC, on requests from Vice-Chancellor Prof Krishnan visited the KSOU campus, verified documents. But, the Commission did not renew the recognition.

Madhusudan has held the VC and other authorities responsible for the situation of the KSOU as well as the students.

“The corruption here has led to the Commission denying renewal of recognition,” he said urging the Governor to intervene in the matter and take action against the guilty.
