Mysuru: A jilted lover who had consumed beer laced with poison two days ago, died on Thursday.
The deceased is Santhu Naidu (27). It is said that his lover had apparently parted ways after being unable to put up with his “weird” behaviour. Dejected over this development, Naidu went to a bar in the city and gulped up beer mixed with poison, on November 15.
After this, he returned to his hostel and barged into his friend’s room, burnt down a tattoo on his hand and then updated his Facebook status. After he updated the status talking of how love ruined his life, at about 11.44 am, he put up a fresh update again at 3.45 am requesting his friends not to fall in love.
When his friends tried calling him after seeing the status, Naidu did not receive the calls. When they rushed to the hostel, they found him seriously ill. He battled for life and breathed his last on Thursday in a hospital here. Saraswathipuram police have registered a case.
