Mysuru: The case of Congress leader Tanveer Sait’s attack has taken a dramatic turn as the wife of one of the accused, who is behind bars, has threatened to end her life.
Addressing the media on Monday, December 2, Heena Kausar, wife of Syed Mohib, one among the six accused, has said that if her husband is not served justice, then she would end her life in the Bengaluru Police Commissioner’s office by consuming poison.
Meanwhile, national general secretary of the SDPI, Abdul Majeed has alleged that the police have arrested innocent SDPI party workers due to the pressure applied by the BJP and the Congress.
He claimed that their innocence was proven by the party’s core committee report.
Majeed has even asked for a legal inquiry into the incident.
Lashing out at the police, he said, “Nabbing innocent SDPI party workers is nothing but a conspiracy and I don’t understand what kind of inquiry is being carried out by the police. They brought the accused to the station and clicked their photographs. They are being falsely charged and are being dragged to the police station. Let me tell you all that the accused are ready for the truth test by placing their hands on the holy Quran and also swearing on the names of their parents.”
