YaduveerRJ 2Mysuru: Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar launched the Mirchi 104.8 FM, India’s No. 1 FM network here on Tuesday, April 2. Every Sunday, in between 11 AM and 1 PM, he will also be turning into an RJ and presenting a programme called ‘Mysuru Diary’ in which he will speaking about history of Mysuru.

Speaking after launching Mirchi 104.8 FM at hotel Radisson Blu here on Tuesday, April 2, he said, “Jayachamaraja Wadiyar, most of the time, used to make use of radio to transmit any message to the people. Now I am also interested in making use of the same medium to promote the history of Mysuru through ‘Mysuru Diary.’ I am extremely happy that a national FM brand of such repute has started operations in Mysuru. Infact, I am getting the opportunity to be an RJ in the station and this is something I have wanted to try for a while. I have no doubt that with its on-air and all the on-ground events, Mirchi will become a part of the social and cultural fabric of Mysuru very soon.” Yaduveer’s Mysuru Diary programme will be on air from April second week.

Bhanu Pratap Singh Chauhan, Cluster Head of Karnataka, Mirchi said, “India’s No. 1 radio station, Mirchi launched its 67th station today in the Cultural Capital of Karnataka, Mysuru. Mirchi Mysore’s playlist will comprise 100% Kannada, giving the listeners non-stop access to hot and happening Kannada music on a platter. The playlist is a result of careful research and talking to potential listeners in the city. Mirchi also promises to keep listeners hooked by taking up discussions on topics that are most relevant to the youth of today. Shows have been designed keeping in the mind the character of the city and its many nuances. The highlight of the newly launched station is that for the first time in the history of FM stations in India, the head of an erstwhile ruling family, Yaduveer Wadiyar will be turning an RJ on 104.8.”

The RJs Ananya, Sindu, Shruthi, Akshay and Siri who will be hosting the show for Mysuru were also introduced during the launch.
