Sachidanand Devadiga, a promising athlete from Kundapura, is grappling with financial challenges that may prevent him from participating in the upcoming Celebrity Pulse Grand Prix Games in Dubai, despite having qualified for the prestigious event. At just 19 years old, Devadiga has already made a name for himself, having secured three silver and one bronze medal in the 100m and 200m races at the National Level Celebrity Pulse Athletics Championship organised by the Celebrity Pulse Sports Federation of India (CPSFI).

Currently a student at MGM College in Udupi, Devadiga has been training diligently under Coach Samar, with the support of Sandhya Nayak, a lecturer at Kundapura Government Junior College. His dedication to athletics has not gone unnoticed, yet financial constraints pose a significant barrier to his ambitions.

Devadiga’s family consists of his father, Shrinivas Devadiga, a fish businessman, and his mother, Sharavati Devadiga, a homemaker. They are facing difficulties in funding his trip to Dubai, which includes expenses for travel, accommodation, and training gear.

Adding to the complexity of his situation, Sachidanand requires lifelong medication due to a childhood injury that affects his brain and nerves. The necessity of maintaining a strict medication regimen means that missing even a single day’s dose could lead to severe complications, compounding the family’s financial strain.

Devadiga and his family are now reaching out for financial assistance to help him achieve his dream of competing on an international stage. Their hope is that with community support, he can not only participate in the Celebrity Pulse Grand Prix Games but also aim for a gold medal.

As he stands on the brink of a significant opportunity, the support from fellow citizens, local businesses, and sports enthusiasts could prove vital in helping this young athlete realise his potential and represent his country on an international platform.
