Shivamogga: Deputy Commissioner K. B. Shivakumar on Monday September 6 congratulated Shivamogga-based Ankita B. S. the assistant coach of the Indian women’s hockey team, who performed well at the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics.
Speaking on the occasion, Ankita B. S. said, “I am proud to claim that I am from Shivamogga. Being part of the team that has accomplished the Olympics was a memorable experience. There are talented hockey players in Shivamogga too. Some have even represented themselves at the national level.”
“Our goal is to identify and train more talents,” she stressed.
She suggested that a good hockey field in Shivamogga could bring out better players.
