Dharwad: The All India Farmers’ Agricultural Labour Federation (AIKKMS) organized a protest in Mugada village, Dharwad taluk, opposing the Karnataka government’s decision to permit the establishment of numerous liquor shops in villages, towns, malls, and along highways in the region.
Instead of prioritizing essential needs such as education, healthcare, employment, and other fundamental requirements for the well-being of the community, granting licenses for new liquor shops is highly criticized.
The protesters cautioned that the government should take this matter seriously, or they would intensify their protests in the days ahead. Chanting slogans against the government, the members of the All India Kisan Agribusiness Sangathan called for the immediate reversal of the government’s decision.
