Parents Accuse Head Teacher of Using Children for School Tank Cleaning

Water Tank

Kanakapura: Parents in Kanakapura have raised concerns after accusing teachers at Hulibale Government School of using children to clean the water tank. The incident occurred on Saturday when the head teacher reportedly instructed five students to enter a pipe-shaped cement tank and clean it with the help of a ladder.

Upon learning about this, parents promptly visited the school and expressed their dissatisfaction to Head Teacher Rajalakshmi. They later contacted the District Education Officer (BEO), demanding disciplinary action be taken against the head teacher.

Parents, including Thimmegow and Kavya, voiced their outrage concerning the potential risks involved in lowering children into a ten-feet-high water tank. Furthermore, they highlighted a lack of coordination among school staff, which exacerbated the situation.

In response, Principal Rajalakshmi assured that measures would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future. Additionally, education department officials are set to conduct an inspection, with Education Officer BG Ramappa stating that appropriate action will be taken based on information provided by teachers and parents.
