Mangaluru: With the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a red alert for the coastal districts, the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district administrations have declared a holiday on July 25th for anganwadis, primary and high schools, and pre-university colleges.

According to the IMD, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall on Tuesday.

The district administration, in conjunction with the District Disaster Management Authority, has declared that there will be no classes on July 25th for all pre-university colleges, government schools, and private primary and high schools in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. This is in response to heavy rain in the region over the past two days, and it aims to ensure the safety and well-being of the students.

Fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea, and residents and tourists are strictly prohibited from approaching beaches, rivers, and waterfalls and are advised against taking photos and videos in these areas.

Residents are urged to remain cautious and heed local advisories and weather updates.
