Mangaluru: Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management (SCEM), an Autonomous Institute affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, was established in the year 2007 under Bhandary Foundation.
The college is approved by AICTE, New Delhi & the Government of Karnataka (GoK). It is Accredited by i) the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade, ii) the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for Five Engineering Programs, and iii) the Institution of Engineers (India) (IE(I)).
The college is recognized under Sections 2(f) and 12(b) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act and as an Innovation Cell by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), India.
SCEM has been accorded the recognition of the Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India (GoI).
The college has housed the New Age Incubation Network (NAIN)/K-Tech since 2017 to promote Product Development and Incubation, recognized by MSME as Host Institute (HI) to establish technical Business Incubator (BI) in 2020.
The Institute is listed in the top 25 most innovative self-financed private institutions in India by ATAL Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement (ARIIA) 2020 and in-band “Excellent” in Private Engineering Colleges in 2021.
The Institute was awarded a 4-star ranking by the MHRD-IIC for three successive years, 2019 – 2021. Sahyadri has been collaborating and networking with many National and International Research Organizations, Educational Institutions and Industries.
Sahyadri promotes the idea of Project-Based Learning (PBL) through various activities and initiatives in association with various in-house industries, which helps the graduates to improve their expertise.
Throughout the program, students are provided an opportunity and platform by various institutional initiatives to exhibit/improve their talents and skills at National and International events hosted by premier institutions such as IITs/NITs/IIITs/SAEs/Colleges and universities abroad.

The In-house Industries and Start-ups are the main forte of the College.
Sahyadri campus is equipped with all modern audio-visual facilities, including an aesthetically designed food court and a well-developed sports facility with a 400 m Athletic track, Gymnasium, etc.
The hostels at Sahyadri provide a home away from home experience with round-the-clock mentoring by mentors. The college exhibits a secured and well-connected campus having round-the-clock facilities for all the members of the Sahyadri Family.

Over 250 companies visit the campus every year for recruitment. The average package being 4.00 LPA.
The Placement Department actively provides internship opportunities to the students and has set up an Aptitude Lab for a continual assessment of students.
The Campus
The sprawling campus just off the Mangalore-Bangalore National Highway 48 is situated on the banks of the river Nethravathi surrounded by nature’s pristine beauty and an excellent infrastructure coupled with dedicated and experienced faculty, thus making the Campus a much sought-after abode of learning.
