Schools and colleges will remain closed in DK on June 26

Mangalore: Due to heavy rain in Dakshina Kannada district for the last three days a red alert has been announced.

In this regard, District Collector Mullai Mugilan has issued an order declaring a holiday on June 26 for all Anganwadis, schools, and colleges in the district. This is in response to heavy rain in the region over the past two days, and it aims to ensure the safety and well-being of the students.

According to the IMD, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall on Wednesday.

Fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea, and residents and tourists are strictly prohibited from approaching beaches, rivers, and waterfalls and are advised against taking photos and videos in these areas.

Graduate students from rural areas are advised to conduct classes online.
