The declaration of Class 12 results by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education has brought both pride and heartbreak to a family in Sri Ganganagar, after a student who passed away days earlier scored an outstanding 93.80%.
Nakita, an Arts student, had died on March 20 following a prolonged illness, just 10 days before the results were announced. Her mother broke down upon seeing her daughter’s marks, holding her photograph close in an emotional moment that has since touched many.
Battled illness with determination
Despite being a diabetic since childhood, Nakita remained dedicated to her studies. She reportedly took insulin injections before appearing for her exams and continued writing papers even while battling high fever.
Her family said she had always been a bright student, having scored over 90% in Class 10 and topping her school. During her final exams, her condition worsened, yet she stayed focused, often expressing her dream of excelling and securing top marks.
Final days and unfulfilled dreams
In early March, Nakita developed severe health complications and was shifted across hospitals, eventually being admitted to PBM Hospital in Bikaner. Despite medical efforts, she passed away after being on ventilator support.
Her family shared that she aspired to become a civil servant and serve society as a collector. Her untimely death has left the family devastated, even as they take pride in her academic achievement.
Village to honour her memory
The village has come forward to honour Nakita’s dedication. The local panchayat is considering naming a library under construction after her, recognising her perseverance and inspiring journey.
Another story of hope
In a separate instance, Ayesha Chaudhary from Jodhpur scored 93.20% in the Arts stream, bringing joy to her family. Her father, an agriculturist, became emotional, expressing pride in his daughter’s achievement and their shared dream of seeing her become a collector.
The contrasting stories highlight both the resilience and aspirations of students, reminding many of the sacrifices behind academic success.
