Shimoga Five Children Fall Ill After Consuming Mushroom Sambar In Kittadahalli Village

Shimoga: Five children from Kittadahalli village in Shikaripura taluk fell ill after consuming mushroom sambar, an incident that came to light late on Monday. The mushrooms, locally grown, were picked and used to prepare the sambar.

After eating the sambar with lunch, the five children started vomiting and were immediately taken to the village’s primary health center. Following initial treatment, they were referred to Shikaripura Hospital and subsequently transferred to Megan Hospital in Shimoga for further care.

The affected children belong to the same family, while other family members who consumed the same meal did not experience any adverse effects. Fortunately, doctors reported that all the children have now recovered.

District Health Officer Nataraj confirmed the incident over the phone, stating, “The children fell ill after consuming sambar made from mushrooms grown in the village. Now they are all healthy and will be discharged on Tuesday
