Rebel Fails to Trouble BJP: Eshwarappa Loses Badly

Eshwarappa 2

Shivamogga: As the Lok Sabha election season approaches, many seats in the state have caused curiosity, and one of them was the Shivamogga Lok Sabha seat. This constituency was in the news this time as the BJP fielded its incumbent MP, BY Raghavendra, and against him contesting were hattrick hero Shivarajkumar’s wife, Geetha, and former minister, KS Eshwarappa.

Eshwarappa decided to revolt against his own party and decided to contest as an independent candidate following the BJP denying him a ticket to his son Kantesh from the Haveri Lok Sabha seat.

There was an anticipation among the voters and political pundits that the Lok Sabha constituency may witness a triangular fight and a surprise result may emerge on Tuesday. When the couting of votes began, it did not take much time that once again BY Raghavendra was on the track of winning again, and eventually he won from the seat once again.

Interesting KS Eshwarappa, who revolted against his own party, managed to secure just 29,674 votes.

Geetha Shivarajkumar secured 5.32,340 votes, and winning candidate Raghavendra secured 7,72,364 votes.
