Bengaluru: Begur Police have arrested a 30-year-old software professional for allegedly recording his landlady while she was bathing at her residence in Bengaluru.

The accused, identified as Manjunath C N, was residing with his family as a tenant in a house owned by the complainant in Vishwapriya Layout.

Woman spots mobile phone near bathroom window

According to the police, the incident took place on July 27, when the woman noticed a mobile phone placed near the bathroom window while she was bathing.

Shocked by the discovery, she immediately came out and searched the area but could not find anyone. She reportedly did not reveal the incident to her family members at the time.

Two days later, she noticed that the colour of a mobile phone being used by her tenant resembled the device she had seen near the bathroom window, raising her suspicion.

Police recover videos from accused’s phone

The woman called Manjunath to her house and alerted the police by dialling 112. A Begur Police team arrived at the spot and examined the accused’s mobile phone.

During the inspection, officers allegedly found a video of the complainant recorded while she was bathing. Police also recovered another similar video believed to have been recorded earlier.

Based on the woman’s complaint, police arrested Manjunath and registered a case. He was later produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine whether any additional recordings were made or shared.
