Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna has promised to make the temporary stop of the Panchaganga Express at Kunigal station permanent. The train travels from Sangolli Rayanna station on the Hassan route to Karwar. Somanna made this promise while speaking to reporters at Kunigal.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had blamed the central government for the delay in the Hassan railway flyover project. However, Minister Somanna clarified that the state government has not provided the necessary grant for the project. Despite this, Siddaramaiah has assured that the department will release the grant and complete the work. This assurance was made during a meeting of officials held on Thursday in the Collectorate office hall.
