Bjp Protest In Udupi Demands For Farmer Welfare Highlighted

Udupi, Jun 26: BJP workers in Udupi district staged a protest at the DC Office on Wednesday, June 26, demanding the fulfillment of various farmer-related demands and criticizing the Congress-led state government.

Addressing the protesters, MLA Yashpal Suvarna urged the government to release grants-in-aid to farmers and ensure justice for all. He emphasized the need for welfare measures and criticized the government’s policies affecting farmers.

Dr. Naveen Kumar, chief secretary of State Raitha Morcha, condemned the government for halting grants and shutting down agricultural institutions. He highlighted issues like the discontinuation of agricultural schemes and demanded their reinstatement.

Kishor Kumar, President of BJP Mangaluru region, likened the Congress party to a scorpion, criticizing its policies and economic decisions.

Kamalaksha Hebbar, President of Raitha Morcha Udupi, underscored the demands for grants-in-aid, reduction in fuel prices, and reopening of agricultural colleges, among others. He emphasized the symbolic protest with sacred cows and threatened future protests with buffaloes symbolizing Mahisha.

The protest, starting from Coin Circle in Manipal and culminating at the Udupi DC office, aimed to draw attention to farmer grievances and urge immediate government action.
