Udupi: To commemorate the birthday of Congress leader and entrepreneur Prasad Kanchan, a special Eye Donation and Awareness Camp will be held on June 15, from 9 AM to 1 PM, at various locations in Udupi.
Addressing a press conference, Sudesh Shetty, President of the Udupi Assembly Youth Congress Committee, stated that the initiative aims to spread awareness about the value of eye donation and to assist individuals who wish to pledge their eyes.
The event is being jointly organized with Prasad Nethralaya, Udupi, a well-known eye care institution. In addition to the primary venue at Congress Bhavan in Brahmagiri, the camp will be simultaneously conducted at three other locations:

Near the Clock Tower by the Udupi Service Bus Stand
Canara Mall, Manipal
Brahmavar Bus Stand
Shetty urged the general public to actively participate and benefit from this meaningful cause.
Joining him at the briefing were Sajjan Shetty, President of the Udupi Block Youth Congress Committee, and Sharath Kunder, Vice President of NSUI. They expressed hope that the camp would see wide participation and help boost the number of eye donation pledges in the district.
The organizers believe that such initiatives not only help restore vision to the needy but also encourage a culture of giving and social responsibility.
