Udupi: A fish-laden lorry overturned near the underpass at Katapady on the Udupi–Mangaluru highway early Saturday morning.
The lorry was reportedly travelling from Udupi towards Mangaluru when the accident occurred at the construction area near the Katapady underpass.
Lorry enters construction zone
According to preliminary information, the driver allegedly failed to notice warning signage indicating the ongoing road work at the underpass.
Instead of taking the diversion road provided for traffic, the lorry reportedly entered the construction zone. The vehicle subsequently overturned, resulting in the accident.
