Udupi, Jun 18: A theft case involving Anjal fish worth Rs 6,500 has stirred the Karkala fish market, prompting action from the local police station. Fish trader Mala reported the theft, alleging that Suraj Jain was responsible for stealing the fish.

Suraj Jain allegedly sold the stolen fish to Vishal Poojary, a nearby florist, for a mere Rs 140. Upon investigation, Vishal admitted to purchasing the stolen fish at a significantly reduced price. To settle the matter, Vishal agreed to compensate Mala for the full value of the stolen fish, initially paying Rs 3,000 and committing to pay the remaining Rs 3,500 by June 27 in the presence of police officials.
