Udupi: The sudden death of businessman and local Congress leader David D’Souza has left his family devastated, with his wife Priya David breaking down while recalling the final moments after the fatal shooting.
‘He never shared business matters with us’
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Priya said David had left for his office after lunch as part of his usual routine. She said he had not discussed any business-related matters with the family.
According to Priya, David always ensured that the family had everything it needed and kept his professional matters separate from home.
She said the family rushed to the spot after learning about the shooting and took him to hospital, but efforts to save him were unsuccessful.
Priya also recalled David’s contribution to the development of the locality through his roles as a businessman and politician.
Wife demands strict punishment
Seeking stringent action against those responsible, Priya said those who shot David and those who conspired behind the crime should receive the strictest punishment.
She also expressed relief over the swift action by the police and urged investigators to ensure that everyone involved in the murder is brought to justice.
