Karkala: In a tragic accident, a newly married woman who was riding pillion lost her life when a dog suddenly crossed their path. The accident happened near Hosmaru in Karkala Rural police station limits on Friday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Neeksha (26), was riding pillion with her husband Vishal when their bike skidded off the road after a dog suddenly crossed their path. The couple, residents of Karembalu in Eedu village, had been married for only three months.
Eyewitnesses report that the incident occurred as the couple was traveling on their motorcycle. The unexpected appearance of a stray dog on the road caused Vishal to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in a skid and subsequent fall.
Neeksha sustained severe injuries in the accident. Despite efforts to rush her to a nearby hospital, she succumbed to her injuries en route.
Karkala Rural Police have registered a case and an investigation is going on.
