Udupi: Two members of the same family who had gone fishing drowned in a lake at Shirlaalu in Karkala taluk.
The deceased have been identified as Harish Poojari (48), a resident of Shirlaalu, and his nephew Ritesh (18). They had gone fishing at Ubrelu Gundi Kere in Shirlaalu village.
While fishing, Ritesh accidentally drowned, and Harish Poojari, who went to rescue him, also drowned in the water. Ajekaru police visited the spot and have launched an investigation.
