The Karnataka Yakshagana Academy has announced the recipients of the Parthisubba Prashasthi 2024, recognizing renowned Himmela artist Mambady Subrahmanya Bhat. The academy’s president, Tallur Shivaram Shetty, shared that the Parthisubba Award comes with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.
In a meeting held at Tulu Bhavan, Mangaluru, on November 18, 2024, the academy members selected awardees for several categories, including the Parthisubba Award, Gaurava Prashasthi, and the Yakshasiri Annual Award for 2024. The Gaurava Award recognizes five distinguished individuals, each receiving a cash prize of Rs 50,000, along with a plaque, certificate, and felicitation. The awardees include Koltige Narayana Gowda, Kodi Vishwanath Ganiga, Raghavadas, Subraya Holla, and Kantaraju.
In addition, 10 individuals were chosen for the Yakshasiri Annual Award, each receiving Rs 25,000 and recognition. The selected achievers are Adka Gopalakrishna Bhat, Jagannath Acharya Ellampalli, Mavaru Balakrishna Maniyani, Umesh Kuppepadavu, Shivananda Gijagaru, Mugwa Ganesh Naik, Surendra Malli, Andala Deviprasad Shetty, Krishnappa, and Haluvali Jyoti.
The Karki Senior Paramayya Hasyagara Award will be presented to Kargallu Vishweshwara Bhat, who will receive a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a special felicitation. The awards ceremony is scheduled for February 16 at Yakshagana Kalaranga, Udupi.
