Kaup MLA Pushes for Reconstruction of Damaged Katapadi-Shirva Highway

Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty has announced a Rs 13 crore proposal for reconstructing the heavily damaged Katapadi-Shirva state highway, which has suffered severe wear from heavy rains and natural disasters. The plan seeks Rs 6 crore from the Central Government’s CRF fund, which has already been approved, and Rs 7 crore from the State Government’s Public Works Department, with approval still pending.

Despite multiple repairs, the road’s condition remains poor. With tenders now in process, MLA Shetty assured, “Reconstruction will begin soon.”
